Mix three drops of peppermint oil with a neutral carrier oil like almond or fractionated coconut, then gently rub the mixture onto your forehead or back of neck.

Simply inhaling the soothing scent of lavender relieves the tension from headaches. Put two drops of oil into hot water and inhale the steam, or consider investing in an essential oil diffuser.

You can use peppermint and lavender oils together in the diffuser and you can use both to create a soothing bath.

Stay hydrated

You may not think of it, but monitoring and maintaining your hydration level can prevent and relieve headaches. Oftentimes, we consume coffee, sugary drinks, and alcohol which serve to dehydrate us. Drinking water is a wonderful cure-all which energizes you and keeps you free of headaches. If you are starting to feel the beginnings of a headache, reach for a glass of water instead of headache pills.

Another way to stay hydrated is to consume fruits and vegetables high in water content. Cucumbers, watermelon, oranges, spinach, zucchini, and radishes are examples of some nutritious foods to eat throughout the day.

Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper is one of the most surprising headache remedies out there. Pepper plants contain capsaicin, a natural chemical known to reduce pain. Using it will immediately lower blood pressure, increase blood circulation, and relieve headache pain.

Using fresh, good quality cayenne, put half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper into eight ounces of hot or cold water. Then slowly sip the cayenne concoction until your headache is gone. If it is too spicy, you may add a small amount of honey.
